About the role

We are seeking a People and Capability Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our People and Capability function.

This role ensures the foundations of people practice across the organisation are strong and consistent. You will oversee recruitment, employee relations and core people processes, while supporting leaders to navigate workplace matters with confidence and sound judgement. 

Working closely with the Executive Director, People and Capability, you will also contribute to capability and culture initiatives that support the organisation’s continued growth and development. 

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working in a smaller organisation where you can have real influence and see the impact of your work

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the People and Capability function and provide leadership to a small team
  • Provide practical advice to leaders on employee relations and workplace matters
  • Guide managers through performance, conduct and employee issues with confidence and balanced judgement
  • Oversee recruitment activity and support a positive hiring experience
  • Maintain strong people systems, policies and processes
  • Support leaders to build capability in managing their teams
  • Work closely with the Executive Director, People and Capability to support organisational change and capability initiatives

 

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Experience managing a People/HR team
  • Experience working across the full employee lifecycle in a small to medium-sized organisation
  • Strong employee relations capability and confidence advising leaders on workplace matters
  • Experience supporting recruitment and people processes
  • The ability to balance practical delivery with strategic thinking
  • Strong judgement, relationship skills and the ability to navigate sensitive matters
