Job Description

QLS has a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Senior Communications and Media Executive to join our Marketing and Communications team. The team supports QLS’s strategic goals through external communications, provides media advice and creates content that builds, influences and strengthens the brand. In this role, you’ll lead corporate communications, media strategy, messaging, and content development to engage key audiences.

 

In this role you will:

  • Provide strategic communication advice for key audiences such as members, government, and legal organisations
  • Develop and support advocacy and public awareness campaigns on key legal issues
  • Lead media engagement, including writing media statements, coordinating responses, and managing media appearances
  • Manage media training, monitoring, and regular updates to keep the organisation informed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media and professional contacts

 

Ideally you will have the following:

  • 5+ years of experience in public affairs, corporate communications, media, or journalism, with legal media experience (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of the Queensland legal and/or political system and experience working with internal stakeholders and media partners
  • Expertise in managing corporate communication strategies and media relations, including strategic advice and media engagement
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills for various audiences and channels
