Job Description

QLS has a permanent opportunity for a Law Clerk to join their Office of General Counsel team. The Office of General Counsel (OGC) team provides independent legal advice to the Chief Executive Officer, the President, the Council and its committees, the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board, the Society’s incorporated legal practice and the Society’s officers.

The Law Clerk role supports the General Counsel and OGC team in providing high quality, independent legal services.

In this role you will:

  • Support the team with document drafting, preparation, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in preparing briefs and litigation materials.
  • Help manage Right to Information and Information Privacy applications.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy across all documentation and communications.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support innovative ways of working.

Ideally you will have the following:

  • A Law degree (completed or currently undertaking).
  • Strong research and writing skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new tools.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with and a willingness to learn and grow. 

We’re open to both full-time and part-time arrangements for this role.
