Job Description

Queensland Law Society (QLS) is seeking a dynamic Director of Marketing and Communications to lead our Publishing, Marketing Communications and Design teams, while working closely with our Advocacy team to shape our public affairs presence. 

This is a rare opportunity to elevate QLS’s brand, strengthen its influence and deliver campaigns that make a difference to the legal profession, the justice system and the community.

As part of the leadership team, you’ll drive strategic communications, marketing and member engagement campaigns across digital, publishing and advocacy channels. You’ll guide a talented team to deliver bold, creative and purpose-driven work that amplifies QLS’s voice and impact.


In this role you will:

  • Lead a portfolio of teams including Publishing, Marketing Communications and Design.
  • Deliver integrated marketing campaigns, content strategies and publications that build awareness, trust and engagement.
  • Strengthen QLS’s public profile through strategic media relations, storytelling and design.
  • Oversee QLS digital platforms, including our corporate website and member hubs.
  • Drive best practice use of Microsoft Dynamics CRM to deliver targeted and data-informed communications.
  • Collaborate across the organisation to support key initiatives, member growth and engagement.
  • Lead internal communications that inform and connect our people.
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team.

 

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Proven senior leadership experience in marketing, communications or publishing. 
  • Strong strategic and operational capability across brand, campaigns, digital and media.
  • Experience delivering strategic communications and advocacy campaigns with measurable impact.
  • Demonstrated experience using CRM platforms (ideally Microsoft Dynamics) for segmented and impactful communications.
  • Excellent writing, editing and visual storytelling skills.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing internal and external communications in a highly professional environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications, journalism, design or related fields.
